We are delighted to welcome the 4th Experimental Primary School Athinagorio to Healthy Little Eaters (www.healthylittleeaters.gr), the innovative educational project that began in 2014 and now includes 80 educational institutions in Greece and Cyprus. This is the first public school to join the program, taking an important step towards integrating experiential STEAM education with a focus on sustainability, healthy eating, and environmental awareness.
🍂 Experiential Learning: Composting in Action

​As part of their participation, students took part in an interactive composting lesson, where they creatively explored the life cycle of organic materials and their role in creating rich, nutritious soil. Through a dramatized presentation:
🍎 They transformed into fruit peels, learning how organic matter decomposes in nature.
🪱 They became earthworms, understanding how microorganisms contribute to breaking down organic material.
🌧️ Using maracas, they imitated rainfall, a key factor in the composting process.

🌿 Sustainability & Healthy Eating: From Theory to Practice

Education at Healthy Little Eaters goes beyond theory—students took home seeds to plant, strengthening their connection to food and nature. Understanding where food comes from and respecting nature are core pillars of the project, which has been promoting healthy eating through hands-on activities since 2014.

Με μεγάλη χαρά καλωσορίζουμε το 4ο Πειραματικό Δημοτικό Σχολείο Αθηναγόρειο στο Healthy Little Eaters (www.healthylittleeaters.gr), το καινοτόμο εκπαιδευτικό project που ξεκίνησε το 2014 και μέχρι σήμερα αριθμεί 80 εκπαιδευτικές δομές σε Ελλάδα και Κύπρο. Είναι το πρώτο δημόσιο σχολείο που εντάσσεται στο πρόγραμμα, κάνοντας ένα σημαντικό βήμα προς την ενσωμάτωση βιωματικής εκπαίδευσης STEAM με έμφαση στη βιωσιμότητα, την υγιεινή διατροφή και την περιβαλλοντική συνείδηση.

🍂 Βιωματική εκπαίδευση: Η κομποστοποίηση στη δράση

Στο πλαίσιο της ένταξης, οι μαθητές συμμετείχαν σε ένα διαδραστικό μάθημα κομποστοποίησης, όπου με δημιουργικό τρόπο ανακάλυψαν τον κύκλο ζωής των οργανικών υλικών και τον ρόλο τους στη δημιουργία πλούσιου, θρεπτικού εδάφους. Μέσα από δραματοποιημένη παρουσίαση:

🍎 Μεταμορφώθηκαν σε φλούδες φρούτων και έμαθαν πώς αποδομούνται στη φύση.

🪱 Έγιναν γαιοσκώληκες, κατανοώντας πώς οι μικροοργανισμοί συμβάλλουν στη διάσπαση της οργανικής ύλης.

🌧️ Με τη βοήθεια μαράκας αναπαρέστησαν τη βροχή, τον σημαντικότερο παράγοντα στη διαδικασία της κομποστοποίησης.

🌿 Αειφορία & Υγιεινή Διατροφή: Από τη θεωρία στην πράξη

Η εκπαίδευση στο Healthy Little Eaters δεν σταματά στη θεωρία – οι μαθητές πήραν μαζί τους σπόρους για να φυτέψουν στο σπίτι τους, ενισχύοντας τη σχέση τους με το φαγητό και τη γη. Η κατανόηση της προέλευσης των τροφίμων και ο σεβασμός στη φύση είναι βασικοί
 πυλώνες του project, που από το 2014 προάγει την υγιεινή διατροφή μέσα από βιωματικές δράσεις.

 η καινοτομία στην εκπαίδευση μπορεί να προσαρμοστεί σε κάθε εκπαιδευτικό πλαίσιο, διαμορφώνοντας τις βάσεις για ένα βιώσιμο μέλλον.
